What is a W2QR Card?
A W2QR Card is a standard credit-card-sized (85.6 × 54 mm) plastic card that carries your encrypted wallet as a printed QR code. It is an excellent alternative to a traditional hardware wallet — no battery, no chip, no firmware updates, and nothing to break.
The QR code on the back contains your seed phrase encrypted with honey encryption. To use your wallet, scan the QR with any camera and enter your password. Without the correct password, any attempt still produces a valid-looking seed phrase — there is no way to tell a wrong guess from the right one.
Why It's the Best Cold Wallet
Works on Any Device
Use it from any phone, tablet, or computer with a browser and camera. No dedicated hardware, no companion app, no driver installation required.
Zero Installation
No app to download, no extension to install, no firmware to update. Everything runs in the browser — scan the QR and you are ready.
Nothing Left Behind
Once you lock or close the wallet, no keys, seeds, or sensitive data remain on the device. Borrow a friend's phone, use a hotel computer — it doesn't matter.
Instant Access
Scan the QR, enter your password, check balances or send a transaction, then lock. The entire flow takes seconds — no pairing, no syncing, no waiting.
How It Works
Create Your Card
Design your card with a nickname and template. If you have an open wallet, the QR is generated automatically. Otherwise, create a new encrypted wallet first.
Print the Card
Download the card as a high-resolution image and print it on a standard PVC card using a card printer, or order a professional print.
Activate (Optional)
Activate your mnemonic QR card to register it and optionally back up the encrypted wallet QR to Google Drive. Activation applies to the wallet (mnemonic) QR only — the password QR does not require activation.
Scan & Use
Scan the QR code with your phone camera or the W2QR scanner. Enter your password. Your wallet opens instantly in the browser.
Why It's Secure
Honey Encryption
The mnemonic QR uses honey encryption: every password attempt produces a valid-looking wallet. An attacker who tries a million passwords gets a million plausible wallets — with no way to identify the real one. This applies to the wallet (mnemonic) QR, not the password QR.
No Password Verifier
The card stores no hash, MAC, or any checkable value derived from your password. There is nothing on the card or server that lets anyone confirm or reject a password guess.
Self-Custodial
W2QR never sees your password, seed phrase, or private keys. Everything is encrypted and decrypted in your browser. The server only stores an encrypted registration record.
Google Drive Backup
Back up your activated card's encrypted QR to Google Drive. If you lose the physical card, restore from the cloud and unlock with your password.
